This policy explains how the Aegis: Private Browser app ("Aegis", "the app", "we") handles information. Aegis is provided by Your Tech Consultants ("we", "us"). If you have questions, contact us at yourtechconsultants24x7@gmail.com.
The following stay on your device and are never transmitted to us:
The app disables Android cloud backup entirely, so none of this is copied to Google Drive or transferred to a new device. You can erase it anytime with Menu → Clear browsing data, and uninstalling the app deletes it entirely.
Aegis has no backend of its own. Certain features rely on Google services that process data under their own privacy policies. Throughout this section, device information means data such as your device model, operating-system/Android version, language, network/carrier, app version, and IP address; approximate (city/region-level) location can be inferred from the IP address even if you never grant the location permission.
| Service | What it processes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (ads) | Advertising identifier, IP address and device information, and (with your consent where required) approximate location, to select, cap and measure ads. | To show ads that keep the app free. See Google's policy. |
| Google Firebase Analytics | Pseudonymous app-usage and ad/consent events (page loaded, tab opened/closed, ad shown, reward completed, consent resolved), a Firebase installation identifier, and IP address / device information. These events never include the address, domain, title or content of the pages you visit. | To understand aggregate feature usage and improve the app. |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and error reports, a Firebase installation identifier, and device/diagnostic data if the app crashes. | To find and fix stability problems. |
| Firebase Remote Config | A Firebase installation identifier and device information, sent when the app starts, to retrieve configuration values (such as ad-frequency and safety kill-switch settings). It carries no browsing data. | To adjust app behaviour without shipping an update. |
| Your chosen search engine (Google, DuckDuckGo, Brave, Bing or Ecosia) | Your search terms when you search. If search suggestions are on, the words you type in the address bar are also sent to that engine to fetch live suggestions. | To perform searches and offer autocomplete. |
| Websites you visit | Standard web requests (as with any browser); the sites you open receive them directly. | To load the pages you request. |
We do not sell your personal information, and Aegis itself does not collect a profile about you. Data shared with Google's services is transferred to and processed by Google, including in the United States, under Google's privacy policy.
Live search suggestions are optional and can be turned off at any time in Settings → Search → Search suggestions. When they are on:
Where required (for example in the EEA/UK), Aegis shows Google's consent request the first time it runs. Your choice controls whether ads are personalized. You can review or withdraw consent anytime via Menu → Privacy options.
| Permission | Why it may be requested |
|---|---|
| Internet / network | To load web pages and show ads. Always required. |
| Location (approximate) | Only if a website you open asks for it and you approve — passed to that site, and used by ads where you consent. Aegis never uses it on its own. |
| Camera / Microphone | Only if a website asks (e.g. a video call) and you approve. |
| Storage / files | Only when you download a file (older Android versions only). |
Every website permission is asked per-site, at the moment the site requests it, and you can deny it.
While private mode is on, Aegis does not save pages to history, does not store new cookies, and clears the cache when you leave. Because Android shares one cookie store across the whole app, sites you are already signed in to may still recognize you.
Data exchanged between Aegis and Google's ad, analytics, crash and configuration services, and between Aegis and the websites you visit, is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Your browsing data is stored only on your device, protected by your device lock and Android's app sandbox; Aegis runs no server that receives it. No method of transmission or electronic storage is perfectly secure, but we rely on Android's platform protections and Google's security practices for the data described above.
This section explains how to delete, or request deletion of, data associated with Aegis: Private Browser, provided by Your Tech Consultants. Aegis has no user account and no backend server, so most of your data stays on your device and under your direct control.
Data stored on your device — browsing history, bookmarks, open tabs, cookies, site data, cache, settings and the local blocked-counters — is deleted immediately when you either tap Menu → Clear browsing data in the app, or uninstall the app. Nothing is kept afterwards, and none of it is ever uploaded to us or backed up to the cloud.
To limit or delete the data processed by Google's ad, analytics and crash components, follow these steps:
What is deleted or kept, and retention periods: on-device data is deleted by you at any time using the steps above. Data collected through Google's SDKs is retained per Google's defaults — crash reports for up to 90 days (Firebase Crashlytics) and analytics data for up to 14 months (Firebase Analytics) — after which it expires automatically; you may request earlier deletion using the steps above. See Google's data-retention policy and manage ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Aegis is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data and to opt out of personalized advertising. Because Aegis keeps your browsing on your device and holds no account for you, you can exercise most of these directly in the app (clear data, withdraw ad consent, disable suggestions). For requests regarding data held by Google's services, see Google's privacy policy. To contact us, use the email below.
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will revise the "Effective date" above and, for material changes, note them in the app's release notes.
